General Competition Terms and Conditions

  1. Entry is open to Queensland residents only. Staff and volunteers of the Library Board of Queensland, the State Library of Queensland or their partners and children will not be eligible to enter.
  2. Prizes are not transferable, exchangeable or redeemable for cash.
  3. The judges’ decision in relation to any aspect of the competition is final and binding on each person who enters.
  4. No correspondence will be entered into.
  5. Winners will be notified by email or telephone and their first name and city/town will be published on the Summer Reading Club website by Thursday 12 February 2009.
  6. To be eligible for prizes contestants must ensure correct contact details are provided on the entries.
  7. All competitions commence at 9am on Saturday 13 December 2008 and close at 5pm on Sunday 25 January 2009.
  8. State Library of Queensland reserves the right to publish first names and ages of the winners for promotional purposes.
  9. State Library of Queensland will not be liable for any loss or damage arising, or personal injury suffered or sustained in connection with any of the prizes.
  10. If for any reason these competitions are not capable of running as planned, including due to infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorised intervention, fraud, technical failures or any other causes beyond the control of the State Library of Queensland, which corrupt or affect the administration security, fairness or integrity or proper conduct of this promotion, the State Library of Queensland reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any individual who tampers with the entry process. The State Library of Queensland assumes no responsibility for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure, theft or destruction or unauthorised access to, or alteration of, entries.
  11. Competition rules and regulations may vary according to the competition and prizes.

e-gallery

  1. Competition is open to all children between the ages of 0 – 16 years at the time of entry.
  2. Level 1 e-gallery entries will go into the draw to win a signed picture book. Three winners each from Level 2, 3 & 4 will each receive a six-month subscription to DMAG.
  3. The winners will be the entries selected by the State Library of Queensland.

Book raves

  1. Competition is open to all children between the ages of 0 – 16 years at the time of entry.
  2. Level 1 book raves will go into the draw to win a signed picture book. Fifteen winners (five each from levels 2.3.4.) will each receive a six-month magazine subscription to DMAG.

Registration local public library or online

  1. Competition is open to all children between the ages of 5 – 16 years at the time of entry.
  2. Winners will receive one of three iPods (one each for Level 2, 3 & 4) courtesy of Encyclopædia Britannica.
  3. The winners will be the entries selected by the State Library of Queensland.

Have your say!

  1. Competition is open to adults and all children between the ages of 0 – 16 years at the time of entry.
  2. Adult winners will receive a six-month print subscription of Good Reading Guide.
  3. Children will receive book pack prizes courtesy of Southern Scene.
  4. Winners will be randomly selected by the State Library of Queensland from all quick comments submissions received.

Evaluation/Full Feedback

  1. Competition is open to all children between the ages of 0 – 16 years at the time of entry and their parents.

Participation draw

  1. Entrants must be registered with the Summer Reading Club at their local public library or online via the website.
  2. Three children from Level 1 will receive a signed book. One participant from Level 2, 3 & 4 will win a camera.
  3. Winners will be randomly selected by the State Library of Queensland.

Library Evaluation/Feedback

  1. Competition is open to all Queensland Public Library staff who submit a Library evaluation form.
  2. Winners will receive one of three $50 book vouchers courtesy of The Bookhouse.
  3. Winners will be randomly selected by the State Library of Queensland.
