Terms and Conditions

General Competition Terms and Conditions

  1. Entry is open to Queensland residents only. Staff and volunteers of the Library Board of Queensland, the State Library of Queensland or their partners and children will not be eligible to enter.
  2. Prizes are not transferable, exchangeable or redeemable for cash.
  3. The judges’ decision in relation to any aspect of the competition is final and binding on each person who enters.
  4. No correspondence will be entered into.
  5. Winners will be notified by email or telephone and their first name and city will be published on the Summer Reading Club website by Friday, 1 February 2008.
  6. To be eligible for prizes contestants must ensure correct contact details are provided on the entries.
  7. All competitions, except the Steve Parish competition, commence at 9am on Saturday, 8 December 2007 and close at 5pm on Thursday, 25 January 2008.
  8. State Library of Queensland reserves the right to publish first names and ages of the winners for promotional purposes.
  9. State Library of Queensland will not be liable for any loss or damage arising, or personal injury suffered or sustained in connection with any of the prizes.
  10. If for any reason these competitions are not capable of running as planned, including due to infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorised intervention, fraud, technical failures or any other causes beyond the control of the State Library of Queensland, which corrupt or affect the administration security, fairness or integrity or proper conduct of this promotion, the State Library of Queensland reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any individual who tampers with the entry process. The State Library of Queensland assumes no responsibility for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure, theft or destruction or unauthorised access to, or alteration of, entries.
  11. Competition rules and regulations may vary according to the competition and prizes.

Paradise e-Gallery

  1. Competition is open to all children between the ages of 0 – 16 years at the time of entry.
  2. Three winners will each receive a 12-month subscription to K-Zone.
  3. The winners will be the entries selected by the State Library of Queensland.
 

Steve Parish Publishing competitions

  1. Competition is divided into the following age groups: 0 – 4 years, 5 – 7 years, 8 – 11 years and 12 – 16 years.
  2. One winner from each level will receive a Steve Parish book pack courtesy of Steve Parish Publishing.
  3. The Competition closes on 31 January 2008.
  4. Steve Parish Publishing will administer the competition and will select the winners.

Book review

  1. Competition is open to all children between the ages of 3 – 16 years at the time of entry.
  2. Twenty winners will each receive a 12-month magazine subscription to Just Kidding or Just Kidding Junior, courtesy of Yarra Media. The State Library of Queensland will notify Yarra Media of winners’ details.
  3. The winners will be the entries selected by the State Library of Queensland.

Full Feedback/Evaluation

  1. Competition is open to all children between the ages of 0 – 16 years at the time of entry and their parents/guardians.
  2. Three child winners will each receive a signed book courtesy of UQP and Penguin.
  3. Winners will be randomly selected by the State Library of Queensland from all feedback submissions received.

Participation draw

  1. Competition is open to all children between the ages of 0 – 16 years at the time of entry.
  2. Entrants must be registered with the Summer Reading Club at their local public library.
  3. Three children from level 1 will receive a signed book. One participant from each level 2– 4 will win an iPod, donated by Encyclopaedia Britannica. One participant from levels 2 – 4 will win a camera.
  4. Winners will be randomly selected by the State Library of Queensland.
